When you need a holiday cottage in Pembrokeshire, look no further than Porthgain Cottage. Porthgain is a superb location - a beautiful harbour village, with the famous Sloop Inn just a stones throw from the cottage and a fabulous beach - Traethllyfyn - within walking distance, along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The City of St Davids, with it's Cathedral, is just 7.5 miles from Porthgain, with Whitesands - a stunning sandy beach, famous also for it's fantastic surfing - a similar distance.
The Sloop Inn
Probably the most famous family pub in Pembrokeshire, The Sloop Inn is well worth a visit. The walls are adourned with photos dating back to when Porthgain was a Quarry Village and Brickworks and the closer part of the coastal path still exhibits buildings from this time.
The Sloop Inn has a restaurant which is open for food 364 days of the year. There is a Bar Menu and Specials Menu including Fresh Fish available daily and also a Childrens' Menu. Bookings are taken for Evenings and Sunday Lunch Times. If you fancy dining "al fresco" there is a South Facing Patio overlooking the Village Green with fantastic Sunsets over the Harbour practically guaranteed during the summer months.
Porthgain Cottage
A modern comfortable cottage situated less than 100 yards from the Sloop Inn and less thatn 200 yards from the sea. The cottage features:
