The Village of Porthgain
The village of Porthgain was once a thriving industrial village, quarrying stone and producing Porthgain Bricks. The works closed down in 1930, but some of the original buildings still remain. Nowadays the village remains totally unspoiled, it is right on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the harbour is now used to moor local fishing boats. Porthgain is in a superb location with easy access to some beautiful beaches - by car or on foot - and is well suited to those who like a less commercial destination. There are two eating establishments in the village The Sloop Inn and The Shed and also two art galleries.
